Dehli; View Toward the Jama Masjid
Product Description
A reproduction of a 19th-century photograph by Samuel Bourne (English, 1834–1912), originally captured around 1864–66.
This image offers a sweeping view of Delhi with the Jama Masjid rising above the city’s gardens and residential quarters. Taken from an elevated position north of the mosque, the photograph captures the long approach toward the monument, the open grounds in the foreground, and the clustered structures that once formed the fabric of Shahjahanabad Made in the years following major political and urban shifts in Delhi, the photograph preserves an earlier topography of the city before later reconstruction reshaped its surroundings.
Framed in yellow pine wood with an oil finish, handcrafted and assembled at our Lahore studio.
